Junior High Ministries

What We Do?

We are a youth group that meets once a week for fun and fellowship.  On occasion, we have "special" events --- like our Middle School Retreat, or get-togethers at families' homes. Starting this year we are going to be working on some new service projects. We will play a major role at VBS this summer.

Why?

To Continue our faith journey together, to build strong friendships, and to just have some fun

When do we meet?

Usually we meet twice a week before church at 9:00am and after Church from 3.00 - 5:00pm, in the Youth Room. There also can be special events that take us to different places around town. You can always refer to the our web site or bulletin board outside the youth room for updates

A Note from Darrel and Dawn

Dawn and I are excited to continue our service and to be part of Junior High ministries at Parkside. We are stunned this group of young people and their hearts for Christ. Our focus this summer will be helping students figure out healthy relationships, respect and equipping them with clear choices.  Our prayer is students will discover how to draw their priorities based on God's Word.  

We want Rip Curl Ministries to find their identity by being a mission minded youth group.  We believe there is fun in Christ without doing the worldly stuff. We want our students to be strong in Christ and realize our lives as leaders must reflect Christ. Dawn reminded me "We are loving them to the Lord."

We look forward to canoeing trip, boating on the river, a large bonfire night, hot tubing, trampoline, going to the beach in Ottumwa, Dye-Wars & Iowa's biggest Slip-n-Slide, the water park at Fun City, "Make It Real" Mission's Outreach, Rip Curl Camp  and our world famous cookie bake.
